HOD – Drilling Operations (Central Africa)

Position: HOD – Operations

Job Location: Central Africa

Qualification: BE / B. Tech / ME / M. Tech – Mining Engineering / Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 10+ years

Candidate will help to streamline drilling operations and increase company efficiency and growth.
Understanding of business model, and evaluation of existing team, procedures, and costs reduce inventory, costing in different drilling. Execution of franchise model. Develop project/site-wise reporting formats and analysis formats to gather and analyse data of each project.
Candidate will be part of the Core Committee once formed. Will lead the Operations’ department, including all types of drilling (core drilling, blast hole drilling, water well drilling). Will also oversee and manage the Garage and Maintenance departments. Will work coordinate with the Stores dept.
Prepare and develop the ground team (i.e. operators, drillers, etc.). Motivate operations team to achieve cost effective results.
Develop training programs and guidelines/SOPs for ground teams to follow to improve uniformity, quality, and efficiency of work across all sites
Develop HSE culture and develop and oversee HSE dept.
Proper project planning and execution within cost and timing.
Control on M&T Dept., Planning of consumables and spares, Prepare efficient BOQ for each project.
Integration into team as a member of the core committee.
Full oversight of the Garage and Maintenance dept., Operations dept., and HSE dept.
Responsible for net profit improvements assessed through a review of line-by-line costs, i.e. material utilization, direct labour, spares and consumables current usage/replacement/ratios vs improvements. Planning and usage/ROI of any additional rigs purchased.
Start preparation for ISO 9001 (Quality management system) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety management system). SOPs to be in implementation and being tracked and monitored across sites.

HOD - Garage & Maintenance (Central Africa)

Position : HOD - Garage & Maintenance

Education Qualification : BE / B. Tech – Mechanical / Automobile

Job Location : Central Africa

Job Description: (Detail JD will be discussed at time of Skype interview)

The garage head will be responsible for all activities carried out the in department, viz.;
Implementing of systemised methodology of all work carried out in the garage.
Creating of data and history records of work done.
Controlling of cost at each level
Utilisation of manpower and available resources.
Control supervisors’ activities
Liaising with managers at sites in order to adapt protocols and procedures, ensuring timely preventive maintenance and management of rigs to optimize utilization
Work with the Business head and HOD’s and respond to user’s requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.
Receive and review feedback from the sites and end users and take action required.
Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action, develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to all enquiries or services
Planning of rig utilization, down times, site placements, asset purchasing forecast, etc. along with Operations’ HOD
Surprise visits to sites along with time spent on sites
Training programs designed and given to onsite team members and garage & maintenance department team members to upskill their knowledge and work
Continuous skills assessment to ensure correct staff placement + planning for training where required
Complete technical library that is accessible to senior mechanical and HOD staff; for all Operators Manuals, Spare parts lists, technical specifications for the complete fleet (including major components such as Rotary heads, different engine derivatives, mud-pumps etc.)
Reduction of repeat repairs
