General Manager – Business Development (Solar, Drilling, Hybrid Projects) - Mumbai, India

 


Hiring for *GM – Business Development* for a diversified group based in *Mumbai (Headquarter – Central Africa)*

 

Experience: 10+ years

 

Education : Any Graduate + MBA/PG or Similar

 

·         *Must have experience in Solar EPC, Drilling, and Hybrid Energy projects or Similar*

·         *This is a senior leadership role to spearhead business development across Africa in Solar PV, Drilling, and Hybrid Energy projects. The role requires proven experience in closing multi-million USD deals, client relationship management, tendering, and building high-performing teams.*

·         *Strong background in Solar EPC, Drilling, and Hybrid Energy projects*, with proven ability to manage Business Development, tendering, techno‑commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations.

·         *Deep understanding of large‑scale project lifecycles, including feasibility, procurement, execution, and client delivery in Africa and emerging markets*.

·         Ability to interpret technical *proposals, BOQs, and commercial* documentation to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in bids.

·         *Demonstrated success in closing multi‑million USD contracts, building BD pipelines, and expanding market share across Africa*

·         Skilled in team building and mentoring, with experience managing multicultural BD teams and setting clear KPIs.

·         Expertise in client management, stakeholder engagement, and *tender governance*, ensuring compliance and profitability.

·         Results‑driven leader with a hands‑on, decisive approach and strong accountability for outcomes.

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to influence C‑level stakeholders, regulators, and international partners.

·         High integrity, resilience, and adaptability, with a cross‑cultural mind-set and readiness to travel extensively across Africa and other regions.

·         Develop and execute BD strategies to secure large‑scale contracts in Africa and other target geographies.

·         Mentor and expand BD teams across Africa, India, and other regions, setting clear KPIs and accountability frameworks.

·         Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and client meetings, enhancing brand visibility and market intelligence.

·         *French/Swahili Language is advantageous*
